The hotel is located in a prime location with Bank of India and Axis Bank Atm closely located.Right outside the hotel auto stand is there to explore the city.Liqour shop just opposite to the hotel.Promenade beach hardly 5 mins drive.Nearby medicine shop and local eateries are there.Staff are very helpful and cordial.They arranged cab for Mahabalipuram sight seeing and Chennai drop through driver Mr Mani.Pothys Saree shop only 5 mins drive away.The restaurant is very well equipped.Provided milk for my kid.Varieties of Dosa are speciality of this hotel.I chose Suite Room which is very spacious and comfortable.Central AC providing ample cooling.Breakfast is same spread everyday.Providence mall is 15 mins drive away.This hotel has pure veg restaurant with reasonable pricing.Ciggaretes are available at exit gate of the hotel.Chennai is 3 hours drive away.Mahabalipuram is 1 hour 20 mins drive away.Jan Feb is best season as the weather is awesome.Car Parking available for 12 cars approx.check availability

Was an OK hotel, didn't try the restaurant. Room was comfortable enough, no kettle, WiFi only worked for the first couple of hours then just wouldn't reconnect, Shower hot and powerful Location OK, walking distance from all the main points, French quarter, beach, bazaar etc. Couple of nearby eateries served great milkshakes

Visited this October with family (with kids) and was quite happy with the overall stay. The hotel and rooms were very clean, well maintained and spacious. The hotel is very close to most of the attractions e.g. beach, museum, paper factory, french colony auroville ashram, etc... and if you are the ones who like to take a walk, this is one of the place you should consider. The breakfast was typical south Indian but really good. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Few things which I found could be better to elevate the experience. A. channels on tv are local, with kids we found it difficult to engage after we came back B. A hot water kettle with tea/coffee bags :) But nothing critical...

Good service and good breakfast. Location is good .. walking distance from rock beach. Staff is very helpful and they ll guide if you ask about location to visit in pondicherry and bigger parking area .... Rooms are clean and room size is good.

Old hotel with disappointing breakfast buffet

This is one of the oldest hotels of Puducherry. It is located on S V Road nearby to all major tourist spots due to which it is always full. But, the hotel is very old as is evident from the rooms and needs renovation. The buffet spread in breakfast was very ordinary with same menu on all days having very less variety although South Indian dishes were good in taste. The only plus point is they have a pure veg restaurant inside their campus only which has a good menu with lots of variety and good taste also. Choose Surguru only in off season as rooms worth 1500 goes upto 4000 in holiday season.
